Recipe Notes

👨‍🍳

Chef's Notes

For the best flavour, use freshly cooked rice that has cooled slightly before mixing with the spices. This helps keep the grains separate and allows the Vijaya spices to coat the rice evenly. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with curd, papad, or Jain pickle for a complete meal.

💡

Recipe Tips

Use long-grain basmati rice for fluffy, non-sticky masala rice.
Cook the vegetables until they are tender yet slightly crisp.
Add Vijaya Garam Masala at the end of cooking to preserve its rich aroma.
Adjust the quantity of Vijaya Red Chilli Powder according to your preferred spice level.
A teaspoon of ghee before serving enhances the flavour and aroma.

Storage Instructions

Allow the Jain Masala Rice to cool completely before storing. Transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat in a pan or microwave with a splash of water or a teaspoon of ghee to restore moisture. For the best taste and texture, avoid freezing and consume fresh whenever possible
